Daughter of oscar winning musician, Khatija Rahman takes over internet for performance in Expo 2020

The daughter of Oscar-winning music teacher AR Rahman, Khatija Rahman, is winning hearts with her recent performance at the Dubai Expo 2020. The 24-year-old singer and 16-year-old pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram performed as part of the ‘Firdaus’ Orchestra on the occasion of World Children’s Day on November 20.

Khatija sang her debut single, Farishton, which was composed by her father AR Rahman. Sharing the video of his magical performance on his YouTube channel, Rahman wrote: “For those of you who missed seeing Farishton’s performance by Khatija Rahman and the Firdaus Orchestra, celebrating World Children’s Day, here it is for you. A big thank you to the entire Firdaus Orchestra and Expo 2020 Dubai team for putting on such a phenomenal show! ”

Her soulful and melodious voice has left netizens in awe, who raved about it and showered praise in the comment section. Many called her voice “angelic”. One user wrote: “Lord Rahman heavenly composition and of course Khatija ji beautiful voice .. ❤️❤️❤️”. Another wrote: “What a brilliant and moving composition! This deserves much more attention. Not forgetting the angelic voice of Rahmans daughter “.

Khatija Rahman made her musical debut with the Tamil blockbuster Enthiran in 2010 when she was just 14 years old. Her great start was followed by some notable collaborations, including that of Grammy winner Ricky Kej. She began her musical journey as an independent singer with “Farishton,” which recently won the Best Animated Music Video award at the International Sound Future Awards.
