Dubai: Emirates to resume flights to five African nations from Jan 29

The decision has been announced after UAE announced to place back the international flights, which were terminated after a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases because of its new variant Omicron.

Recently, Emirate airlines announced that the flights would be resumed between Dubai and five African countries from January 29, Saturday.

As per the latest information by the airline, more than ten routes would be restored, including Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Dar El Salaam, Tanzania; Nairobi, Kenya; Harare, Zimbabwe; Emirates’ three South African gateways Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

Ethiopia:

The flights would operate from January 30, daily.

Kenya:

Emirates flights would weekly operate from January 29.

South Africa:

Emirate flights from Dubai to South Africa would operate on a daily basis from January 29 and double daily service would re-commence from February 1. Daily flights from and to Cape Town as well as Durban would also operate from February 1.

Tanzania:

Emirate would provide five flights in a week service to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, from January 30.

Zimbabwe:

The airlines would operate six flights in a week from January 30. The destination for the flights would be Harare and would link to its Lusaka service.

Travel Restrictions at the Dubai International Airport:

All the flyers must have a 48-hour PCR test report with them if they are travelling to Dubai. The validity of the test must be calculated from the time the test sample was collected. According to the Dubai Authority, the test must be conducted by an approved facility and the report should have a QR code.

The authority further said that the flyers would undergo an additional Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival and would remain in isolation, or quarantine, until the reports are released.
