“Launching RECAPP in Dubai will allow us to significantly expand our base of recyclers, furthering our mission of supporting local communities as they strive to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle.”

Although, this service is not yet made available for the whole capital city. The areas that will get benefitted from the service are Umm Suqeim, Jumeirah, Business Bay/Downtown, Al Barsha, MBRM City — District One — Meydan, Arabian Ranches 1, and Springs/Meadows/The Lakes.

The residents of the above-mentioned regions are expected to segregate their recyclables from home waste and schedule a pickup time as per their facility. After this, the waste items are transported to the warehouse in Al Quoz, where they are separated and baled.

The previous week, the environment agency of the middle east country informed that the country has pledged to ban the utilization of single-use plastic bags before the ongoing year ends.

Apart from this, Emirates Global Aluminium announced that to tackle the environmental challenges, it will be building an aluminium recycling plant, which will be carrying a capacity of 150,000 tonnes every year. The officials of the company noted that this plant would be its first aluminium recycling centre and the biggest in the UAE.
