Pakistan thanks Dubai for providing opportunity to showcase culture at EXPO 2020

Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan - Khalid Khurshid Khan, thanked the Dubai authorities for giving Pakistan an opportunity and platform of showcasing its culture and civilisation at the international level (Dubai EXPO 2020).

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan – Khalid Khurshid Khan, thanked the Dubai authorities for giving Pakistan an opportunity and platform of showcasing its culture and civilisation at the international level (Dubai EXPO 2020). He made the remarks while addressing the media outlets at the GB Investment Conference on Thursday, February 24. 

Khan said, “We are very excited to announce that we have got tremendous support from the business community and investors at Expo 2020 Dubai as we managed to sign 25 MoUs [memorandum of understanding] worth $2 billion (Dh7.35 billion)”.

Gilgit-Baltistan and the GB Invest Organisation, on the sidelines of the ongoing Dubai EXPO 2020, conducted an event in which more than 200 businesspeople, as well as investors, participated. They also held significant talks with the chief minister, ministers and other officials of GB. 

He then described the significance of the event and noted that it turned out to be very successful.  

Khan asserted, “It is the most successful event we ever had“.  

Kazim Mesam – GB’s Minister of Agriculture on the sidelines of the event, in conversation with a media house, informed that an agreement had been penned down with Dubai-based Flydubai. 

He said, “Agreement has already been signed with Dubai-based Flydubai, and flights will start as soon as all arrangements are finalised. The investors and tourists can now take great benefits as it will now be much easier for all of them to pay a visit to the region. They will be able to get access to the top-quality, high-altitude crops which are of high price very highly in the world”. 

“We expect to see our products, including vegetables and fruit making their way to the UAE market once the direct flights start,” following the above statement, underscored Mesam.
