Egypt records additional 1,261 SARS-CoV-2 infections on Thursday

The Middle East state has recorded a total of 1,261 additional infections of the deadliest COVID-19 virus on Thursday, March 3, 2022, according to the data shared by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health - Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

Cairo, Egypt: The Middle East state has recorded a total of 1,261 additional infections of the deadliest COVID-19 virus on Thursday, March 3, 2022, according to the data shared by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health – Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

This has been the lowest daily COVID-19 infection mark recorded by the health authorities of Egypt since January 18, 2022. With the arrival of these new cases, the total tally of the confirmed cases in the Middle East country has risen to 487,642 as of March 4, 2022.

The health ministry spokesperson, further providing the COVID-19 update, informed a total of seventeen (17) patients scummed to the viral disease in Egypt, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 24,149, as of March 4, 2022.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,008 COVID-19 recoveries were also witnessed by the Middle East country on Thursday. These recovered individuals have also been discharged from the hospital facilities. So far now, the overall recovery rate of Egypt has increased to 417,479, as per the statement of the health ministry spokesperson.

Vaccination statics of Egypt:

To date, in Egypt, there are a total of 40,772,051 individuals, which represents around 39.8 percent of the total Egyptian population has received their at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

On the other end, there are a total of 29,953,832 persons in Egypt who are fully vaccinated by taking their recommended number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. This number counts for nearly 29.3% of the total population of the Middle East state.

The data notifies that 985,931 individuals are there in Egypt who are fully inoculated and have also taken their booster shots.

Egyptian government authorities have set the target to immunise 70% of the total targeted eligible population (those who are above 12 years old). This target is to be achieved within the deadline set by the second half of the ongoing year.
