Dubai’s Prime Minister Rashid Al Maktoum meets Bangladeshi counterpart at Dubai EXPO 2020

Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai - Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh - Sheikh Hasina Wazed.

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh – Sheikh Hasina Wazed.

Both the counterparts held the meeting at the DUBAI EXPO 2020.

Prime Minister Rashid Al Maktoum, while welcoming his counterpart in Dubai, highlighted the deep bilateral ties between both countries. He then also expressed and underlined the significance of strengthening diplomatic relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi Prime Minister commended the DUBAI EXPO 2020 authorities for hosting such a successful event, adding that this highlights United Arab Emirates’ ability to organize events at the international level.

The meeting also witnessed the penning down of numerous Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The motive behind signing these MoUs is to boost and foster the cooperation between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates.

First, MoU discusses higher education and scientific research, signed by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE’s Minister of Education and Abul Kalam Abdul Momen, Bangladesh’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The other MoU was signed in the field of diplomatic training by Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and Masud bin Momen, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh.

Another MoU was also penned down between the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research and the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies. This MoU was signed by Dr Sultan Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, Director-General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research and Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, President of the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry also signed an MoU, which was signed by Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai International Chamber and Mohammed Jashim Uddin, President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
