Ramadan Games 2022 concluded in Dubai

Organised by the Sports Affairs Department in the General Department for Community Happiness, the ceremony was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, who congratulated the winners of the different individual and group competitions that spanned over the holy month of Ramadan.

He also highlighted that the Ramadan Games 2022 are within Dubai Police’s enthusiasm to arrange various sporting events that contribute to increasing physical fitness, encouraging a healthier lifestyle, and fostering sports as a way of living among employees and participants.

Colonel Ali Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the General Department for Community Happiness, confirmed that the Dubai Police Ramadan Games had become a Mini-Olympiad that coincides with the blessed month of Ramadan every year. He added that this year’s edition saw some great competitions and challenges.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Basit Ali, Director of Sports Affairs in the General Department of Community Happiness, affirmed that the Ramadan Games 2022 featured 22 different competitions for women and men, including snooker, volleyball, football quintet, cricket, CrossFit, fitness challenge, swimming, padel, archery,one-mile race, cycling, chess, physical strength, shooting, and other action, fun-filled competitions.

Lt. Col. Ali pointed out that the number of participants in the Ramadan Games reached 1,094 (928 men and 166 women).

He explained that there were 216 prizewinners selected by 94 specialised judges who executed the arbitration processes.

The director of Sports Affairs at Dubai Police confirmed that the Ramadan Games 2022 activities also had a 280-hour training programme for 112 participants and included fitness programs at the Officers’ Club and a mountain bike program in Mushrif Park.
