UAE: Two men drowned in different incidents during Eid holiday

In another incident, an Asian man died as he drowned while swimming around the Umm Al Quwain beach on Monday morning, 2 May.

The Police Operations room got a call regarding the incident that took place in the Al Hamriyah area on Wednesday morning. Police immediately went to the spot along with an ambulance, rescue team and patrols.

The incident was informed to a lifeguard who reached the spot around 6:30 am. A close friend of the deceased person told the lifeguard that the individual had entered the sea around 5 am and then got disappeared.

The body was then pulled out of the sea by the rescue team at around 10 am in the morning. His body was later moved to the hospital. It was then taken to the forensic sciences laboratory for an autopsy.

Police have launched a probe into the incident to investigate the scene further.

In the incident of Umm Al Quwain beach that took place on Monday, police stated that a total of three men drowned in the sea at first, but two out of them were saved while the third one lost his life. Umm, Al Quwain Police are still investigating the incident.

The Police of Sharjah has urged to the public to avoid swimming in regions where warning signs have been displayed and also to avoid going out swimming during the time of high tides and under unstable weather conditions.

Two people have drowned during the holidays of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE, and further investigation is being carried out to find the cause behind these drownings.
