The department of Dubai Municipality will be transformed into a “specialised institution” that will adopt a “private sector mindset” that will provide top-quality municipal services. The move must strive to increase the ability of the authority to keep pace with changes in the global environment, circular economy, climate change and the acceleration of partnerships with the private sector.

The reconstruction strives to create economic opportunities worth Dh10 billion in the next five years and will decrease the operating cost by 10%. It will also increase the quality of services by almost 20%, as per tweeted by Sheikh Mohammed.

The Land Department will be restructured completely and aims to raise operational efficiency by 20%.

Sheikh Mohammed further tweeted, “We strive to change Dubai into the world’s best city to live, work and invest. The continuous development of government services is necessary to achieve this goal and assure Dubai sustains high levels of global competitiveness. We are committed to enhancing government operations in Dubai further to provide the best possible environment for the economy to flourish and ensure the greatest quality of life for citizens and residents.”

The agreements that were signed during this time included the main targets for the specific time period and the strategic projects that directors of entities, departments and institutions are appointed to implement. Both the departments will be restructured to enhance their performances individually.
