Sheikh Abdullah conducted talks with Vice-Chancellor of Germany

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, conducted talks with the Vice-Chancellor of Germany and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr Robert Habeck, on Wednesday, 25 May.

The two men examined efforts to strengthen bilateral links between their countries, including the critical fields of trade, climate and investment, along with methods to expand economic partnerships.

Both the sides also talked about a number of matters of mutual concern, including the stability of global food and energy markets and the significance of accelerating economic growth as well as the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Habeck gave his condolences over the demise of Sheikh Khalifa due to prolonged illness and also wished the United Arab Emirates further prosperity under the leadership of the new President, Sheikh Mohammed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met his German partner Annalena Baerbock in Berlin on Wednesday, 25 May.

Sheikh Abdullah praised the continued development of cooperation between the partners and also thanked the vice chancellor for his support for UAE and its people.

The meeting was joined by Hafsa Abdullah Mohammed Al Ulama, UAE Ambassador to Germany and Mariam Al Mheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment.

Earlier also, Sheikh Abdullah met with his German partner Annalena Baerbock as part of his visit to the capital city of Germany.

The ministers also discussed the strategic relationship between the two nations and various ways of enhancing ties.

They also talked about regional as well as international developments, including the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and the significance of strengthening efforts to come to a political solution to avoid the long last conflict in the country. They also discussed how will the situation in Ukraine will be managed so that it can be tackled.
