Dubai: Museum of the Future partners up with DEWA to illustrate future technology

The Museum of the Future of Dubai has signed an agreement with the DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) to showcase technology concerned with the future of environmental sustainability and renewable energy.

The Museum of the Future of Dubai has signed an agreement with the DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) to showcase technology concerned with the future of environmental sustainability and renewable energy.

The collaboration strives to make way for constructive research, which helps give solutions for present ecological challenges, stated the entities via a joint statement on Monday, August 15.

It also plans to promote Dubai’s position as a city that benchmarks low-carbon urban societies and sustainable development.

The managing director and chief executive of Dewa, Saeed Al Tayer, stated that through this collaboration, they would work to opt for the best innovations and technologies to display in the museum. They will also work to support the government initiatives to contribute towards making Dubai the future’s smart city, in addition to finding more future technologies.

This has also contributed towards the museum is the first in the whole Middle East to apply for the platinum rating in the LEED [leadership in energy and environmental design, which is the highest ranking for green buildings in the world.

Furthermore, the museum will also showcase Dewa’s accomplishments in sustainability, clean and renewable energy, investing in the recent 4th Industrial Revolution and disruptive technologies, stated Al Tayer.

The Museum of the Future was launched this year by Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid in February.

The 77-metre-tall building features a series of interactive exhibitions, which gives the visitors an opportunity to experience future technology and trends. The pillarless structure, spanning an area of 30,000 square metres, is also promoted as a novel global intellectual centre.

The partnership between both entities was announced during the museum’s ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition, which shows existing concepts and solutions that illustrate the application of advanced technology in renewable energy and sustainability fields. It further concentrates on other vital areas, including health, space, cities and technology in future.
