UAE reports 703 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours

The United Arab Emirates reports a total of 703 latest Covid-19 cases on Thursday, August 18, raising the overall number of coronavirus cases to 1,007,742.

The recent cases were identified after a total of 261,318 tests were carried out during the last 24 hours.

More than 180 million PCR tests have been done since the first case was found in the Emirates on January 29, 2020.

One death related to Covid-18 was also reported, increasing the overall tally to around 2,341.

Another 673 individuals got recovered from the virus as total recoveries raised to 986,102.

Daily numbers of Covid-19 cases have lessened gradually during the last month after a sudden increase of cases in June.

Cases of coronavirus have stayed less than the 1000 mark since August 5.

The authorities have asked the public members to stay determined towards safety measures, such as isolating themselves after a positive test and wearing face masks when needed.

On Thursday, August 18, a new drive-through coronavirus testing centre was launched at a hospital in the Al Ain region.

The mobile service will be an advantage to existing screening services at the Al Wagan Hospital.

The centre was established by the Abu Dhabi Health Service Company, commonly known as Seha.

PCR testing at the hospitals is done between 8 am to 8 pm every day, with the drive-through services from 4 pm to 8 pm every day.

The United Arab Emirates has been working continuously to protect its people and prevent the spread of the virus to a much large extent.

The cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) are gradually decreasing all around the world but have not yet diminished completely. A maximum number of people worldwide have been vaccinated to safeguard themselves from coronavirus. The world is expected to become soon free from the virus ultimately.
