UAE records 681 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday

The United Arab Emirates recorded a total of 681 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Saturday, increasing the overall number to 1,009,116.

Another 697 patients won their battle against the virus during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 987,458.

There were zero deaths reported related to COVID-19, and the toll remained stable at 2,341.

The number of active cases of the virus has dropped slightly to 19,317 after a daily number of recoveries exceeded the number of new infections found.

The latest cases were found after an additional 215,224 PCR tests were conducted in the Emirates.

Over 181.6 million tests have been conducted in the country so far. The number of cases has fallen gradually during recent weeks, having topped to 1800 at the start of July 2022.

The number of Covid-19 infections around the world has crossed over 600 million, as per the figures compiled by the data aggregation site Worldometer show.

There have been over 574 million recoveries from coronavirus cases and around 6.5 million deaths in the world since the beginning of the pandemic in 2019.

The United States has had the highest number of confirmed cases, with more than 95 million, as per the Worldometer data.

This is more than double that of India, with over 44 million cases, with Brazil, France and Germany each having crossed 30 million infections.

The cases of coronavirus in the United Arab Emirates have declined since the start of this year, and less than 1000 cases have been reported in the country in recent weeks.

The world has also witnessed a decline in coronavirus cases because most people have completed vaccinations related to the virus.

People have also been careful regarding the precautions such as maintaining social distance, wearing face masks, not gathering up in a crowded area etc., to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
