The UAE sent a plane full of food and necessities to various cities and villages affected by the torrential rains that recently smashed southern and eastern Mauritania on September 30, 2022.
The nation offers the basic necessities to the families suffering in southern and eastern Mauritania due to the outburst of rain.
The commodities being sent to southern and eastern Mauritania are primarily for women, children and elderly adults.
“The provision of these essential commodities reflects the strong ties between the two countries and underlines the UAE’s major humanitarian role in providing relief to those in need and those affected by disasters that threaten food security,” said Hamad Ghanem al-Mehairi, UAE Ambassador to Mauritania.
The UAE previously sent aid to Mauritania in April 2021 and essential medical commodities to support the country’s efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
During significant flooding in Pakistan, UAE tops the list of nation sending aid to the victims of floods. At least 133 planes carrying flood relief supplies from 17 brotherly and friendly nations and three international organizations have arrived in Pakistan so far to help flood victims; however, the United Arab Emirates alone sent 41 aid planes to Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore, outpacing all other nations.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, the friendly and brotherly countries have come forward to help flood victims in Pakistan. So far, Pakistan has received substantial aid from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey,China, the United Arab Emirates and a number of other countries.
