Kite Beach is undergoing a significant change, as organisers look to create a “fresh experience” for visitors while four spots have been picked out for a “beautifying” project.

Dubai beaches have long been considered some of the finest and most spectacular in the world, among which Kite Beach is one of the most famous.

The popular kitesurfing and kayaking spot is undergoing a significant rebrand, with the flags and colour scheme changing to redesign the beach’s look.

 30 of Dubai’s best beaches

A spokesperson for the beach confirmed the plans to Time Out Dubai after Dubai Municipality announced a sizeable beach rehabilitation project to “develop and beautify” four of the UAE’s most sought-after spots.

While Al Mamzar Corniche is further along the coastline, the other three spots are near the world-famous Kite Beach.

Already known for its range of food trucks and top-quality facilities, the developments applying to Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqeim 1 could improve the area yet further.

A Kite Beach website statement added, “We are building a fresh Kite Beach experience for you. Keep peaceful, and we will see you soon with our brand-new look.”

Work on Dubai’s beaches is set to be finished by December – meaning the new and improved facilities will be in place for peak tourist season.

November to February is considered the best time of year to visit the UAE, with temperatures pleasant and a range of events taking place.

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup in nearby Qatar from November 20 to December 18, the coming winter tourist season is expected to be the busiest in Dubai for many years.

It is hoped the beach project will revamp and improve facilities at the sites concerned, preserving some of the emirate’s most significant tourist attractions for years to come.

The project’s scope includes covering the beaches with beach sand and carrying out breakwater and other works to protect public beaches from solid waves.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Chairman of Dubai Municipality, stressed the importance of caring for Dubai’s facilities so future generations can enjoy them.
