A 28-year-old Indian man, currently working as a chef in Abu Dhabi, has recently won a cash prize worth more than four lakhs in a lottery and has vowed to donate a portion of his winnings to the victims of the Odisha train accident that has claimed 288 lives.
It is to be noted that Sahajan Mohammad, who hailed from Jaspur town of Odisha, has won a Dh20,000 cash prize in the Dream Island’s scratch card game during the past week.
While talking about the Odisha train tragedy, which took place on June 2, Mohammad said, “Fortunately, none of my known persons was part of this horrific accident… there are very few people from my locality who have been wounded in this accident. I will be helping those who are affected in my village first.” The train accident in the Balasore district in Odisha is one of the worst train accidents that has happened in years. At least 288 people were killed, and more than 1,200 were wounded in this accident.
It is to be noted that, apart from helping the victims of the tragedy, he will also going to use the money won in the prize for his personal expenses in the construction of home and some for his relatives who are currently in need.
Mohammad, who has been working as a chef at a hotel in Abu Dhabi and earns almost Dh2,000 a month, had earlier also tried his luck at the different lucky draws, but that bore him no fruit.
An ecstatic Mohammad stated that “I am now flying home on June 25. I have become a father now. I will be meeting my baby girl. She has brought this luck.”
As per him, “life is a game” which he will continue to play. “I will keep playing Dream Island’s scratch card games. My other friends and cousins also play it and have won,” he added.
