The Abu Dhabi Health Department has closed a medical laboratory in the UAE after the health care quality team in the department monitored a number of violations at the facility.

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Health Department has closed a medical laboratory in the UAE after the health care quality team in the department monitored a number of violations at the facility.

The closure of the facility came as an organizational measure to protect the health and safety of community members, until the medical laboratory corrected its status and adhered to the health requirements and conditions applied.

The Department clarified that intended violations included non-compliance with medical laboratory standards issued by them and non-compliant to the Department’s regulations, policies and generalization, in addition to violation of reporting systems Electronic and the department standards for reporting public health statistics.

The Abu Dhabi Health Department has urged all health facilities working in the UAE to comply with the standards and regulations issued by the Department, to maintain the efficiency of the health care system and thereby maintaining the health and safety of all community members, and to continue providing health care services in accordance with global best practices.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has closed a medical laboratory as a result of the health audit findings against the facility.

The closure of the facility came as a regulatory measure taken to preserve the health and safety of community members and to allow the medical laboratory to take all necessary corrective actions to adhere to the applicable health requirements. 

The violations observed included non-compliance with its standards of medical laboratories, non-compliance with the Department’s regulations, policies, and circulars, as well as violating the electronic reporting systems and DoH’s standards for reporting public health statistics.

DoH calls on all health facilities operating in the Emirate to comply with its policies and regulations to preserve the efficiency of the healthcare system in Abu Dhabi and continue providing healthcare services in accordance with international best practices.
