PM Roosevelt Skerrit reaffirmed that “we will monitor the weather condition tonight, and if the need arises, we will take the decision to call off work tomorrow.”
However, he said that businesses, including the Public Services, need staff to arrive and help those preparing for necessary action in case of any emergency.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also hoped that tropical storms would move away soon from the Dominica. We are praying for an early normalisation of weather conditions along with every preparation for any sudden emergency-like situation.

A storm warning signalled that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere in any part of the warning area within the 36 hours.

Meanwhile, as per the weather reports, the tammy is fast moving towards the west-northwest, with nearly 13 meals per hour speed. At the same time, as per the forecast track, the centre of Tammy storm will move near or over the Leeward Islands on Friday and Saturday, and it may move north of Leeward Island in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

On the other hand, the data from the Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft revealed that the maximum speed of the winds is 60mph. It is also expected that the Tammy storm can be turned into a hurricane.
