PM Philip J Pierre Congratulates Julien Alfred for winning the Bowerman Award

Philip J Pierre, The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Friday Congratulated Julien Alfred for Winning The Bowerman award in the United States of America.

Castries: Philip J Pierre, The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Friday Congratulated Julien Alfred for Winning The Bowerman award in the United States of America. This is the highest award given to the best Student-athletes every year.

Julien Alfred is a world-renowned Sprinster Belonging to the small Caribbean nation Saint Lucia. Last year at the Commonwealth Games she won the silver medal in hundred meters race. Presently she is a student of the University of Texas.

The Bowerman Award was established in memory of Oregon’s Track and Cross Country coach Bill Bowerman. This award is given every year by the US Track and Cross Country Association to the best male and female sportsperson.

PM Philip J Pierre took to his social to extend his best wishes to Julien Alfred. He stated that, “Join me in congratulating Ms Julien Alfred on winning The Bowerman, the highest accolade bestowed to the year’s best student-athletes in the USA, collegiate track and field.You had a phenomenal year and continue to make us proud by your display of great sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance.I pray for your continued success.All the best on this journey, Julien; you inspire our nation. We are here cheering you on”.
