Ernest Hilaire congratulates awardees of Gimies 2024, lauds their contribution

Dr Ernest Hilaire extended wishes to the winners of the “The Gimies- Saint Lucia Tourism Awards” which was held on Saturday.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Minister of Tourism- Dr Ernest Hilaire extended wishes to the winners of the “The Gimies- Saint Lucia Tourism Awards” which was held on Saturday. He expressed immense proud and said that these awardees are the prime contributors in the upliftment of the tourism sector.

He said that the awards that were given last night were mere tokens of appreciation as their real award of the night was the satisfaction that was built among the guests who expressed a desire to visit the country again.

Minister Hilaire also addressed the gathering and termed the Gimies as the hope and a platform for uplifting the chances for the tourism sector, which is the backbone of the economy of Saint Lucia. It is the celebration of the warmth community of the country who welcome the tourists with love, passion and other exceptional offerings.

He also extended gratitude to the unwavering efforts of the awardees to making the tourism sector successful on the behalf of the Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia. Minister Hilaire added that the event is the hard work of volunteers and companies who made the second edition possible.

The minister mentioned,” From groundsmen to caterers, cleaners, MCs, security to protocol officers, production, entertainers to photographers. Every single one who made this a true celebration.”

He further lauded the tourism industry and stated that the sector has evolved with time, showcasing true essence to the world. Minister added that this is due to tourism that they are able to showcase the beauty of the destination, share the rich culture, boost the welcoming and warm nature and create memorable experiences for visitors.

He asserted that the tourism is one of the main aspects for the growth and prosperity of Saint Lucia which led its citizens to adopt sustainable practices and ensure the overall well-being.

Minister Hilaire further extended gratitude to the partners and said,” Special thanks to our incredible partners who got on the road to the Gimies 2024. We appreciate all your support in giving back to our unsung heroes and look forward to 2025.
