In a groundbreaking move for the world of Padel, Dubai gears up to host the inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 tournament, poised to showcase the pinnacle of professional padel prowess from November 3-10. 

Organizers have unveiled a strategic vision that not only elevates the status of the sport within the UAE but also fosters a lasting legacy for Dubai’s sporting landscape and community engagement.

Under the auspices of the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council (DSC), Premier Padel, and Gallop Global, Dubai emerges as a beacon for global padel enthusiasts. 

The tournament, held at the state-of-the-art Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadiumboasts six purpose-built courts primed to host the world’s leading padel talent.

“The launch of the Dubai Premier Padel P1 signifies a historic milestone for the sport, reflective of our unwavering dedication to nurturing its growth within the vibrant landscape of the UAE,” remarked Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAEPA. 

He added, “This event aligns seamlessly with Dubai’s vision to cement its status as a premier global hub for sporting excellence and community enrichment.”

With a compelling roster of 320 players, including luminaries such as Arturo Coello, Ariana Sanchez Fallada, and Juan Lebron, the tournament promises riveting matchups and fierce competition. 

Notably, the event marks the swansong for padel legend Fernando Belasteguin, adding an extra layer of poignancy to the occasion.

The combined prize pool of €470,000 euros (Dh1.89 million) underscores the tournament’s prestige and allure, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe. 

Tickets for the week-long extravaganza are now available, with an enticing 20% Early Bird discount for early enthusiasts, making the event accessible to all.

Padel’s surging popularity is not confined to the UAE alone. With an estimated 25 million players worldwide, the sport’s global footprint continues to expand. 

In the UAE, over 320 padel facilities and 950 courts cater to a burgeoning community of 250,000 aficionados, further bolstered by a robust social media presence with 500,000 followers.

Ivan Modia, Tournament Director and CEO of Gallop Global emphasized that the Dubai Premier Padel P1 transcends mere athletic competition, heralding a year-round initiative aimed at nurturing grassroots participation and fostering a culture of excellence. 

He stated, “This tournament signifies the dawn of a new era for Padel, one characterized by inclusivity, innovation, and community engagement. Beyond the confines of the tournament, we are committed to expanding Padel’s reach into schools, empowering aspiring amateurs, and catalyzing the sport’s organic growth at both local and national levels.”
