As the excitement for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 intensifies across the UAE, Dubai-based businessman Anis Sajan is ensuring that blue-collar workers get a chance to witness some of the most anticipated cricket matches of the tournament.
Sajan, the vice-chairman of Danube Group, has generously gifted tickets to workers employed by the company, allowing them to attend key matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, including the much-awaited India versus Pakistan game.
The UAE, home to over 3.7 million Indian nationals and nearly 1.7 million Pakistanis, boasts a fervent cricket culture. The sport holds a special place in the hearts of South Asians, making the demand for tickets to the Champions Trophy matches exceptionally high.
On two occasions, tickets through the International Cricket Council (ICC) sold out within minutes, leaving many fans, particularly blue-collar workers, struggling to secure a seat at the high-stakes games.
Recognizing the challenges faced by these workers in attending live matches, Anis Sajan has taken a step to ensure they don’t miss out on the opportunity.
Through a thoughtful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Danube Group employees will receive 60 tickets per match for four key games: Bangladesh versus India on February 20, India versus Pakistan on February 23, India versus New Zealand on March 2, and the semi-final on March 4.
The tickets were distributed through a lucky draw system, allowing all interested workers an equal opportunity to win.
Sajan’s initiative prioritised workers from cricket-loving nations, such as India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, but also ensured diversity within the selection process.
Each eligible worker had the chance to submit their name for a spot, with the winners being chosen randomly to attend the games.
“Many of our blue-collar workers are devoted cricket fans, but the high ticket prices and overwhelming demand make attending a live match a distant dream for them. They work tirelessly to support our company, and this initiative is my way of giving back.”

In addition to the match tickets, Danube Group has made arrangements for food and water at the stadium. Each worker will be provided with food coupons, and after the match, they will receive food packets for their journey home. This gesture is aimed at ensuring the workers are well taken care of during their cricket-filled day.
