Fair Skies and Scattered Showers Expected Across UAE on Saturday

Fair to partly cloudy weather will prevail in the UAE on Saturday, with scattered rainfall, dusty winds, and temperatures reaching up to 45°C across various emirates

The UAE will witness a mix of fair to partly cloudy conditions on Saturday, September 6, with scattered rainfall expected in several regions. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), convective clouds are likely to form, particularly in the eastern and western areas, which could trigger showers throughout the day.

Skies will gradually turn cloudy from Friday evening into Saturday morning, especially over northern and eastern parts of the country. The NCM has also warned of dust and sand being stirred up by strong winds accompanying cloud activity, which may reduce horizontal visibility in some areas.

Wind speeds are forecast to remain light to moderate for most of the day, strengthening at times with cloud activity. These gusts could create challenging conditions for motorists, particularly in open desert highways where blowing dust and sand may limit visibility. Residents are advised to exercise caution while driving under such conditions.

Temperature readings are expected to fluctuate widely across the country. In the interior regions, values will range between 28°C and 45°C, while coastal cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi will experience highs of 43°C and 44°C respectively. The lowest temperatures are expected to dip to 31°C in Dubai and 29°C in Abu Dhabi.

Sharjah, meanwhile, will experience temperatures ranging between 29°C and 43°C, marking another hot and humid day for residents. Humidity levels across the nation are predicted to vary between 15 per cent and 85 per cent, further intensifying the discomfort during peak daytime heat.

On Friday, the highest temperature recorded across the UAE was 46.6°C in Bada Dafas, located in the Al Dhafrah Region, at 14:15 UAE local time. This highlights the persistence of summer heat despite the slight weather variations expected on Saturday.

As for marine conditions, the Arabian Gulf will see slight to moderate seas, while the Oman Sea will remain slight. This forecast indicates relatively stable conditions for offshore activities, although caution is still advised for small boats during periods of fresh winds.

With convective clouds bringing rain to certain regions, residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their outdoor activities accordingly. Those traveling in the northern and eastern emirates, where rain is more likely, should remain prepared for sudden weather shifts.

The NCM’s forecast underlines the country’s characteristic late-summer weather patterns, where soaring daytime heat occasionally gives way to localized rainfall and dusty conditions. As the nation edges closer to the transitional autumn season, such mixed weather is expected to continue.

Authorities have urged the public to stay updated on real-time weather alerts and advisories through official channels. Staying informed will help residents take necessary precautions to ensure safety during sudden dust storms or heavy showers.

Saturday’s weather will offer a blend of sunshine, clouds, and occasional showers—an early sign of seasonal changes on the horizon in the UAE.
