Dubai Tourism Police hosts awareness lecture on enhancing tourism security

The Tourism Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigations of Dubai Police held an awareness lecture for employees of 6 hotels representing the Holiday Inn Express Group, in partnership with the Department of Economy and Tourism, and in cooperation with the internal partners in Dubai Police.

During the lecture, Brigadier Khalfan Al-Jallaf, the Director of the Tourism Police Department, has made confirmation that, “Enhancing tourism security awareness at the level of hotels and resorts, is a pivot role of the work of the department, especially since the Emirate of Dubai is an international tourist point that attracts millions of visitors a year, which requires tightening of security awareness with the police services. Dubai is specialized in tourists, and in dealing with this category specifically, in order to support the strategic directions of Dubai police in making the community happy and enhancing the feeling of safety.”

At the same time, the General Administration of Civil Defense has taken part in the awareness lecturing, raising the awareness on ways to prevent fires, methods of dealing with accidents, and safety procedures. The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services have also taken part in raising awareness of the most important first aid procedures, communication channels, and ways to deal with the emergency situations.

During the lecture, the officials has also emphasized upon the qualitative and intelligent services of the SPS Smart Police Center, which is almost provided to Members of the public easily, 24 hours a day and without any human intervention. In addition to this, they have also highlighted raising awareness of the harms of drugs and methods of dealing and communicating with security authorities, along with raising awareness of electronic crimes, methods of dealing with hacks and electronic extortion, and reporting them via the e-crime platform.
