Egypt launches "Productive Student" program, 10,000 students to receive training

Cairo, Egypt: Within the framework of the “Productive Student” initiative to promote investment in human beings and fight Poverty Al-Qabaj announces the launch of a package of training programs to join the labour market for a total of 10,000 students. They announce 5,000 scholarships for those who pass training tests.

The Minister of Social Solidarity stated that the initiative is carried out through the “Equal Opportunities” program. It is coordinated with Nasser Social Bank, which is assigned to maximize its investment and social role at the same time. The application of the initiative in technical institutes is being expanded.

It also mentioned that the initiative aims to train 10 thousand students during the summer vacation from August until the end of September, and training will be carried out in the fields of preparation of practical studies, marketing, financial inclusion and heritage.

The Ministry further outlined that choosing the best ten useful studies for each university from among the participants in the training workshops. The ministry offers funding opportunities with a financial value of between 10 thousand pounds and 15 thousand pounds per project for a total of 5,000 thousand productive projects that contribute to the development of investment and economic thinking in youth.

Accordingly, an application for electronic registration and participation in the initiative is being announced.

Within the framework of the Social Solidarity Units project in Egyptian universities implemented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in cooperation with 31 public universities, especially as well as Al-Azhar University, and within the framework of the Productive Student Initiative launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity at the beginning of last June.

It aimed at motivating young people to work, produce and invest in them as one of the ways to fight Poverty by providing training and funding opportunities for terminally small projects; the Ministry’s vision for this initiative aims to polish the student’s personality, support their financial and social independence, and create future generations, especially the care, develop the spirit of innovation and creativity and encourage them to invest in their skills and abilities.

The Minister of Social Solidarity, Nevin Al-Qabaj, has announced the launch of a package of training programs for students who wish to take on productive projects during their studies at the university. The initiative aims to train 10,000 students during the summer vacation starting this August until the end of September, and training will be carried out in the field.

Preparing useful studies, marketing, financial inclusion, heritage and handicrafts, the best ten useful studies for each university will be selected among the participants in the workshops, and the ministry offers financial opportunities with a financial value of 10 thousand pounds to 15 thousand pounds per project with a total of 5,000 thousand productive projects that contribute to motivating students on work, productivity and financial independence from a young age.

The Qabaj indicated that the ministry is paying great attention to university students and institutes and especially those who are the first to care or whom the ministry targets in its various programs, in accordance with the Equality of Educational Opportunities Initiative, which mainly aims to support social and financial capabilities of students and develop an awareness of social and national issues.

The Ministry launched the “Productive Student” initiative two months ago from Ain Shams University, and in the presence of Dr Mahmoud Matini, the president of the university, to be circulated to 31 private government universities, where the Ministry seeks to provide all forms of support and qualification to launch their own projects.

The Minister of Social Solidarity pointed out that subscription to training and qualification courses is free of charge for all university students of all genders, as the courses represent an opportunity for students to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to execute productive projects that make a continuous income, even if varied in value, intending to direct students’ thoughts and practices to production and investment, and until they feel With the achievement, it is confirmed that the initiative is implemented in partnership with Nasser Social Bank, which plays an important social and investment role within universities, and it has been confirmed that the initiative will also be expanded within technical institutes.

On his part, Dr Salah Hashem, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Policy and General Coordinator of the Universities Solidarity Units, pointed out that the courses will end with holding exhibitions for productive projects products in cooperation with family products inside each university to offer the products to students at the end of the summer vacation and the beginning of the new academic year, and the student is awarded a certificate Passing of training courses as grant-winning projects are selected through committees formed by the Ministry of Solidarity in cooperation with the Environmental Affairs sectors in different universities, applications for students willing to participate in training grants will be received within the headquarters of the Social Solidarity Units in universities.
