First Transgender woman crowned as Miss Nevada USA!

History made in Nevada! It was a proud moment for the LGBTQI+ community in Nevada, USA, and around the globe as the first transgender woman won the title of Miss Nevada.

On Sunday, 27 years old Kataluna Enriquez won the title of Miss Nevada, and became the first transgender woman to win the beauty competition in the pageant history. Enriquez defeated 21 other contestants to own the title.

According to her Instagram post, Miss Nevada Kataluna Enriquez, before this pageant, had also won the title of Miss Silver State USA pageant, which took place in Las Vegas ahead of Miss Nevada competition.

Kataluna Enriquez won the title in her stunning rainbow dress, a gown which was made by herself under her label Kataluna Kouture. She honored the pride month and people of the LGBTQI+ community with her dress. Sharing the photo of the dress on Instagram, she wrote, “In honor of pride month, and all of those who don’t get a chance to spread their colors.”

The news was shared on the Instagram page of Miss Nevada USA, which read, “Congratulations to our new Miss Nevada USA @mskataluna 👑 History made!”

Announcing her win, Kataula Enriquez posted a picture of her in the crown along with Miss Nevada Teen USA Noelani Mendoza and Riss Rose, the executive director at Miss Silver State Pageant. Enriquez accompanied the photo with huge heartfelt caption thanking her supporters. She wrote, “To my pageant mommy @rissrose2 , no words can describe how much I am grateful of you. For your constant support, for welcoming me in to your home, and feeding me nothing but love.”

Kataluna continued, “Team @misssilverstate, you are all inspiring. Your love, support and sisterhood has healed many years of struggle. My times and giggles with y’all never be replaceable. To all the sponsors, Thank you. I couldn’t have done it without your help. Huge thank you to everyone who supported me from day one. My community, you are always in my heart.”

“My win is our win. We just made history. Happy pride. @missnvusa @missusa,” stated Miss Nevada Kataluna Enriquez.

Now, Kataluna Enriquez will compete for the title of Miss USA, which will take place in November.
