In a recent attack on Gaza Strip, Israel destroyed Al Fakhoora’s House in the Southern part of Al Rimal, Gaza. The attack was part of the ongoing “Operation Iron Swords” by Israel against Hamas militants in Palestine.
The operation “Operation Iron Sword” was launched as a retaliatory action against the rocket strike of Hamas. It is to be noted that Hamas on last Saturday opened a sudden rocket fire against Israel.
Israel called the Hamas attack a grave mistake committed by the Hamas without any provocation.
Al Fakhoora House was considered as a safe place for displaced families of war and students. It was located in an Area that also holds many civil societies and international organisations’s offices.
The Al Fakhoora House belonged to the “Education Above All” Foundation. This House was basically meant for education purposes but nowadays being used by many displaced and refugee families.
This educational facility was actually raised by the Qatar to cater the needs of students and displaced families, especially refugees. It was established after the 2009 Israel war on Gaza. Qatar media condemns the attack that caused huge destruction to this educational facility.
Many civilians used the building of this educational facility for staying and also used it as a safe shelter to protect themself against the attacks of IOF i.e Israeli Occupation Forces. At present, as the war between Israel and Palestine is going on full-scale, this facility has become a very feasible option for a large number of displaced families.
According to members of the Education Above All Foundation, the facility of Al Fakhoora was established to pay tribute to victims of a recent attack on education facilities across the Gaza Strip in the past.
EAA’s Al Fakhoora program has established this educational facility, which was destroyed by the previous attacks of the Israeli government against the Hamas militants.
As per the management of the programme, this facility was catering to much-needed Psycho-social support to those who suffer from traumatic experiences after the violence.
War affects many people mentally, and these educational or humanitarian facilities fulfil their psychological requirements.
