Lebanon’s caretaker PM meets Ambassador of Qatar

Beirut: A bilateral meeting was held recently between Najib Mikati, caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon and Sheikh Saud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the Ambassador of Qatar to Lebanon. A meeting was held on the 2nd of November in Beirut to discuss the bilateral relations and other important issues of both countries.

During the meeting, the caretaker, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, appreciated Qatar for providing unconditional support to Lebanon in a difficult time. He also underscored the gravity of relations between Qatar and Lebanon and that these deep relations are very old and time-tested.

Caretaker Prime Minister further said that there is an urgent need to bridge the Arab-Arab gap for the better future of the Middle East region. Moreover, the PM also expressed a desire to establish a deep relationship between Arab countries, especially in Qatar.

Lebanese Prime Minister  praised the efforts of Qatar to end the Israael-Hamas conflict. Additionally, he appreciated the steps taken by Qatar for the Release of the Hostage from the custody of the Hamas. He also warned the Israelis to implement an immediate ceasefire. He said that in case no immediate ceasefire is imposed , the war could spread to other parts of the region as well.

On the other hand, Qatar’s ambassador reaffirmed the support of Qatar to Lebanon In future as well. It is worth mentioning that Qatar is expanding its influence in Lebanon. Many Lebanese leaders  frequently visited Qatar to get the assured support of Qatar Lebanon.

In the past, Qatar had issued huge financial aid to Lebanon. In the year 2020, Qatar Pledged approximately 50 million dollars. Moreover, Qatar and Lebanon established diplomatic relations in the year of 1944. A large number of people of Lebanese background live in Qatar.

Qatar’s ambassador also highlighted the importance of the cultural exchanges and cooperation between both countries. He said Qarti’s embassy in Lebanon provides crucial services to the people of Lebanon for hassle-free services.
