India: A suspicious drone activity was recorded from Pakistan hovering over the Gurdaspur Border and was thwarted by India’s first line of defence BSF (Border Security Force) soldiers during the intervening time of the night.

As per the updates, as soon as the drone was spotted over the border area across the city of Gurdaspur near the BSF post, the Jawans fired around 74 (seventy-four) rounds at the drone.

In addition, after the rounds were fired at the drone, the BSF jawans managed to shot down a suspicious packet from the drone, which was recovered for further investigation.

Furthermore, the drone trespassing was recorded at midnight, around 10:20 pm, under cover of darkness and thick fog along with low visibility, especially in the cold weather of Punjab in North India. As per reports, Pakistan’s terror policies have no significant change, even in the cool wave sweeping the region.

As per recent information, Pakistan has been using the same strategy of drone trespassing into the Indian territories for quite a few times now, where Indian security forces have recorded around 250 incidents of drone activities, 17 of which were shot down at the spot in recent times.

Moreover, it was conveyed that Punjab shares around 553 kilometres of the area as the India-Pakistan border are attached to seven Punjab districts.

The reports further confirmed that these types of drone attacks are more active during the winter times, with the advantage of fog and low visibility.

The drones are used by the Indian neighbour Pakistan not just for terror attacks but also to drop or deliver suspicious items such as drugs, weapons and other help to militant groups.

There has been a notable increase in such incidents over the past few months, a sign of concern for the Indian border security forces. Said reports.

Moreover, it has also been conveyed that the authorities of the first line of defence, known as BSF (Border Security Force) and the second line of defence, are working towards reducing such terror incidents on Indian grounds.

It was also mentioned that the tag ‘Udta Punjab’ given to Punjab was majorly connected to smuggling drugs and weapons sent from Pakistan.

In the recent times, the danger of drones has been more concerning with the rise in technology, especially in Amritsar city, where the maximum number of drones were seen, which can be considered the most vulnerable area for such attacks.

The reports concluded the 74 battalions of the BSF (Border Security Force) had answered the hovering drone and fired nearly 74 rounds at it to bring the drone down. But, it was called back by the Pakistani controllers. The incidents are considered to bring instability in Punjab. Said reports.
