PM Drew extends thanks to people for participating in Labour Day March

Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis expressed gratitude to all the people who were part of the Labour Day march held on 6 May at Pasty Allers field.

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis expressed gratitude to all the people who were part of the Labour Day march held on 6 May. The event took place under the theme of “Live, Work, Prosper: Together” at Pasty Allers field.

Labour Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the success of the ruling labour party of the country. Many other events were also organised ahead of this march including a pre-labour Day meeting, a wreath-laying ceremony and a highlighted beauty contest “Miss Labor Queen Pageant 2024.

This is the second time the ruling party SKNLP (St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party) is celebrating the day since it came into power two years ago in 2022.

PM Dr Drew also took to his social media handles to thank the people while sharing the beautiful picture from the event. He stated in the Facebook post “I like to extend my gratitude to all the individuals who were part of yesterday’s march. It was a great day as we all marched in solidarity with the workers of the federation.”

“We started our journey in the morning with prayer and then toured the capital city with the involvement of workers and invited other special guest”, added the PM.

It is to be specifically mentioned that just a day ago PM Dr Terrance Drew invited the citizens to attend this historic event. In his invitation PM also urged the attendees to wear red clothes during this March. In his invitation Facebook post PM Drew recalled the struggle of the Labour Party for the legalisation of the worker’s organisation in the country which was banned till 1940.

Meanwhile, social media users appreciated PM Drew for the successful organisation of the Labour Day March. One Facebook user Brenda Warner commented “Dr drew thank labour party sweet sweet”. Another user Viona Garnett while commenting on the PM’s post wrote “Yes it was a great day. May God guide you and protect you, Better with Labour.”

Notably under the visionary leadership of PM Dr Terrance Drew, the St Kitts and Nevis has witnessed significant development in all the fields like health, education, tourism, infrastructure and more.
