As per the reports, the address of Prime Minister came to the ‘Antioch Baptist Church’ on Sunday and expressed his joy and happiness on successfully completing 90 years of establishment as a political party.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Terrance Drew stated that the SKNLP had been committed to fulfilling its duties and responsibilities over the years to serve the country’s people in the greatest way possible. ”I believe one of the most appropriate ways to commemorate the Party’s historic ninety years was to return this party to the government!’’ he added.

In addition, PM Drew stated that he was delighted to deliver the speech to his fellow residents of St Kitts and Nevis to honour the 90th Anniversary of the SKNLP, along with addressing the vital contributions of the members in the Party’s rich history and legacy which is rich, vibrant, unshakable, and undeniable.

‘’It is an undeniable fact the SKNLP has been working tirelessly towards bringing success, revolution, growth and development along with modern advancements in the country and the Caribbean as a whole,’’ said PM Drew.

History:
While addressing the nation, Prime Minister stated that the SKNLP has a rich history dating back to 1932, which was previously known as the St. Kitts-Nevis Workers League, after which the political Party has been moving forward the brighter path for the people of the nation.

In his statement, he added that SKNLP had become the voice of the working people of St Kitts and Nevis for such motives, including being academically advanced, independent and owning their own land. ‘’This turning point led to our people being able to serve their country in the highest offices and to represent their country in the farthest lands,’’ PM drew stated.

The government of PM Terrance Drew has provided special benefits to the people of the country in many terms to serve them with a better life since its formation, which read as follows,
– Universal Adult Suffrage – This gave us the right as a people to vote, irrespective of gender, race, social status, wealth, political stance, or any such criteria.
– Land Ownership – This saw our people gaining access to affordable lands. Opportunities to own a piece of their home and advance themselves financially.
– Social Security – This provided a financial safeguard for our people and their families if they become ill, hurt, pregnant, retired, unemployed, or met their untimely demise.
– Comprehensive Secondary Education – This essentially opened our education system for ALL to attend, despite their background, family wealth status, previous academic achievements, or aptitude.
– Independence – Giving us full reign and control over our affairs, government, and people.

Furthermore, It was through the actualization and mobilization of this movement that we, as the nation as a whole realized the power in our ability to work together and achieve greater heights, organize together, march together, fight together, all ‘FOR THE GOOD WE CAN DO’, Prime Minister added.

The statement addressed the importance and essential part that the Dr Denzil L. Douglas has played as the nation’s second Prime Minister for over 30 years who began the journey long ago. ‘’It would be very unfair of me not to acknowledge the presence of Dr Douglas,’’ he concluded.

Additionally, PM Terrance Drew pointed out that all the privileges, success, luxuries and freedom the nation is enjoying today are the direct effect and result of the sacrifices and life dedicated by the members of the SKNLP throughout its power.

During his end notes, he added that, as a leader of this great political Party of St Kitts and Nevis, He pledges and takes full responsibility to continue the great work to serve his country with the best intentions.

‘’As we continue this fight, as we continue to effect change that will advance the people of this country, YOUR GOVERNMENT has been working strategically and diligently for its better future,’’ he concluded.
