Sheikh Mohammed visits Venezuela, Philippines, Portugal and DEWA pavilions at EXPO

Sheikh Mohammed overviewed the clean energy and green hydrogen projects initiated by these countries. 

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Friday, March 18, 2022, visited the pavilions of Venezuela, Philippines, Portugal and DEWA countries at the Dubai EXPO 2020.  

After having a tour of the pavilions, Sheikh Mohammed, via his official Twitter account, cited, “Today, as part of my periodic tour of Expo, I visited the pavilions of Venezuela, the Philippines and Portugal in addition to the DEWA pavilion”.

Sheikh Mohammed overviewed the clean energy and green hydrogen projects initiated by these countries. 

The tweet further asserts, “I saw their projects in clean energy and the green hydrogen project. I was drawn to a global competition launched by DEWA for universities to transform traditional homes into homes based on solar energy.” 

In addition to this, Sheikh Mohammad also met with the Canadian Governor-General on Friday at the Expo 2020, where both the dignitaries held significant discussions on the numerous important sectors. 

Another tweet of Sheikh Mohammad cites, “During the reception of His Excellency Marie Simon, the Governor-General of Canada today at Expo 2020 Dubai, we discussed all relations and their development, especially at the cultural, economic and investment levels. We are optimistic about a better future for these relations.”

Meanwhile, a significant milestone has been achieved by the DUBAI expo 2020, as today (on Saturday, March 19, 2022), it crosses the margin of 20 million visitors). Around 70% of Dubai EXPO 2020 visitors are from the United Arab Emirates only, and nearly 2.8 million of them are children, according to the data shared by the EXPO authorities. 

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, on achieving the milestone, “When we begin this journey in the year of 2013, and even prior to then as we prepared the bid for Expo 2020 Dubai, we had a dream to welcome the world to Dubai and the UAE for an outstanding global gathering that would live long in hearts and minds.”
