Dusty Hill, the bassist of the Texas based Rock band ZZ Top passed away at the age of 72.
The other two members of the trio, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard, announced the news via social media. The band’s official social media shared a statement by Beard and Gibbons stating, “We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX.
“We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C. You will be missed greatly, amigo,” the statement continued.
The cause of Dusty’s death has not been revealed yet. However, the bassist was dealing with a hip related injury, as told by the band on Friday. As a result, he had to miss the band’s show ZZ Top concert in New Lenox, Ill, which wasn’t cancelled as per Dusty’s wish.
