Dubai Duty Free announces first two winners; housewife & hosp worker bags $1 mn each

Dubai Duty Free announced the first two winners for the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 2022 on Wednesday. The winners involve a German national based in Dubai, a Hospital worker and Kenyan living in Nairobi, a House maker.

Dubai Duty Free announced the first two winners for the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 2022 on Wednesday. The winners involve a German national based in Dubai, a Hospital worker and Kenyan living in Nairobi, a House maker.

The Kenyan winner, Tajinder Dhanjal, purchased her ticket through an online platform. She is a regular participant and has been buying them for around ten years. Tajinder is a house maker and a mother of two.

After winning the Millennium Millionaire promotion 2022, Tajinder became the third Kenya resident to win Dubai Duty Free promotion since 1999.

She expressed her joy and said, “I will not be able to express my happiness in words. I do not believe that it is happening. This is the blessing of God, and I appreciate this!”

The second winner, 67-year-old Rolf Hartung, had purchased the ticket online on December 17, 2021. He used to purchase physical tokens for around 20 years, but because of Covid-related travel restrictions, he has bought tickets via e-platforms. Rolf is a hospital worker and a father of two.

Rolf has become the seventh resident of Germany to win Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotions since 1999.

Meanwhile, Rolf thanked Dubai for a great start to the year. Rolf quoted saying, “Winning Dubai Duty Free is not just a good feeling, and it is a great honour. It is surprising as I never thought of winning $1 million. It is definitely a good start to the year… Thank You, Dubai”.

The Finest Surprise draw was conducted during the event, and four people were declared the winners.

One of the winners was a 50-year-old Jordanian national based in Dubai, Saleh Al Shawa, and he bagged a BMW R 1250 R motorbike. The second was a 63-year-old Kuwaiti national based in Mansouriya, Hashem Almousawi. He took a Mercedes Benz 500S home.

The third and fourth were Indian nationals based in UAE and Sharjah, who won the Indian Super Chief Motorbike and Aprilia Tuono 660 motorbike.
