Emirates penned down MoU with Turespaña, to boost tourism in Spain

Emirates airline penned down a Memorandum of Understanding - (MoU) with Turespaña, Spanish Tourism Institute, in order to boost trade and tourism to Spain.

Dubai, UAE: Emirates airline penned down a Memorandum of Understanding – (MoU) with Turespaña, Spanish Tourism Institute, in order to boost trade and tourism to Spain. According to the agreement, Emirates and Turespaña will initiate joint activities to attract tourists to the European country, including trade familiarisation trips, workshops and marketing campaigns. 

Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, the divisional senior vice-president, International Affairs at Emirates, asserted, “Emirates launched operations to Spain more than 12 years ago, and the country remains an important market in our global network. We’re very happy to be exploring mutually beneficial initiatives that will drive tourism to Spain and also offer Emirates more opportunities to serve the market.”

Meanwhile, the director-general of Tourspain Madrid, Miguel Angel Sanz, stated, “Spain, as one of the most visited countries in the world, and Emirates, one of the world’s leading airlines, will work together to improve the connectivity and generate confidence, which are key factors for recovery“.   

At the present time, the airline is operating ten weekly flights to Barcelona, including five from Dubai to Mexico City through the Barcelona route and nine weekly flights to Madrid via the A380 aircraft. 

In addition, Dubai-based air carriers will be resuming the flight services to the destination of Casablanca from the United Arab Emirates. With this, the Dubai based airlines have resumed flights to all the African countries, which were earlier stopped amid the ongoing COVID-19 viral disease. 

The airlines stated, “The world’s journey towards recovery continues, and Emirates SkyCargo is doing its part. Since our first flight carrying vaccines 15 months ago, we’ve now transported over 750 million doses worldwide! And in support of the COVAX initiative of the World Health Organisation, we continue to focus on our efforts on the countries that have been hard-hit by the deadliest COVID-19 pandemic“.
