Major Kazakhstan airlines resuming flights to Egypt by next month

Kazakhstan is resuming its flight service to Egypt. Air Astana, Fly Arystan, and SCAT airlines of Kazakhstan will start resumption of flight services to the Middle East state, possibly from next month. 

Cairo, Egypt: Kazakhstan is resuming its flight service to Egypt. Air Astana, Fly Arystan, and SCAT airlines of Kazakhstan will start resumption of flight services to the Middle East state, possibly from next month. 

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan. The flight service was put on halt amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic and to reduce the transmission chances of the viral disease.

The above mentioned Kazakhstan airlines will restart flights to the following Egyptian cities: 

  • Sharm El-Sheikh from Nur-Sultan, 
  • Almaty, 
  • Shymkent,
  • Atyrau, 
  • Aktobe, 
  • Uralsk,
  • Kostanay. 

The Ministry further underscored that the flights would be operative under stringent COVID-19 health guidelines and under observance of sanitary and epidemiological requirements and as listed on the websites of these airlines. 

COVID-19 in Egypt: 

The data show more than 475,000 cases of the deadliest viral disease has been reported in the Middle East country so far. The death rate of Egypt is currently at 23,889. 

COVID-19 in Kazakhstan: 

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been a total of 139,000 cases recorded by healthcare facilities so far. Meanwhile, the death toll of the country at the present time stands at 18,882.

The resumption of flights to Egypt will assist the country in reviving its economy, as well as boosting the tourism sector.  

The decision has been taken as the situation is getting stabilized in both of the countries. 

The airlines: 

Air Astana: It is an airline company situated in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It operates scheduled international and domestic services on 64 routes from its main hub and is hence considered the country’s leading airline. 

 FlyArystan: It is a low-cost airline based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is the totally-owned low-cost subsidiary of Air Astana.  

SCAT Airlines: It is legally known as – PLL SCAT Air Company, which is an airline with its head office on the Shymkent International Airport in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. It operates flight services to all of the main cities of Kazakhstan and to neighbouring nations.
