Egypt COVID wave: 1,121 new cases with 13 deaths

The recent update provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Health notes that a total of 1,121 new cases of the novel coronavirus were recorded by the healthcare facilities in the past 24 hours, as of Friday, March 4.

Cairo, Egypt: The recent update provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Health notes that a total of 1,121 new cases of the novel coronavirus were recorded by the healthcare facilities in the past 24 hours, as of Friday, March 4.

With these additional infections, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 488,763. On the other hand, there are a total of thirteen (13) COVID-19 patients in the Middle East country who scummed to the viral disease on Friday.

The data shared by the health ministry further reveals that there are a total of 983 COVID-19 patients recovered from the contagious mutant in 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in Egypt to 418,462, as of March 4.

The vaccination statics shows that so far, there are a total of 40,772,051 individuals in the Middle East country who have received their at least first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines, representing nearly around 39.8% of the total Egyptian population.

There are a total of 29,953,832 persons in the Middle East state of Egypt who has taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine and are hence, fully vaccinated against the deadliest mutant. This number computes for around 29.3% of the total population of Egypt.

In addition, there are a total of 985,931 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots, till now representing around 1% of the total targeted population.

The health ministry of the country set the target to vaccinate 70% of the total targeted population by the second half of the ongoing year.

On Friday, the Head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus at Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population – Hossam Hosni, said the toll of COVID cases and deaths is witnessing a significant decline.
