Egypt reports 854 new COVID infections, 8 deaths on Friday

The Middle East nation has recorded a total of 854 additional infections of the novel coronavirus on Friday, March 11, 2022, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt.

The arrival of these new cases takes the overall count of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 mutant to 495,373 since the beginning of the outbreak in the country.

Along with this, a total of eight (8) citizens of Egypt have lost their lives to the deadliest viral disease in the past 24 hours, as of Friday, March 11, the data of the health ministry reveals. Now, the total count of the COVID-19 related fatalities stands at 24,277.  

In the last 24 hours, there are a total of 733 patients of the viral illness who got recovered and were discharged from the hospital facilities of Egypt, as of Friday, bringing the total number of the COVID recoveries to 424,831. 

As per data disclosed by the Egyptian health ministry, there has been a downfall in reporting of daily COVID infections in the Middle East nation.  

The Vaccination rate of Egypt: 

So far, in Egypt, a total of 41,192,990 individuals have taken their at least first dose of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of partially vaccinated population, counting for around 40.3%. 

Whereas there are a total of 30,174,310 citizens of the Middle East country, who have been fully vaccinated with the recommended required number of the COVID-19 vaccines. This number of individuals in Egypt represents about 29.5% of its total targeted eligible population.

Meanwhile, 1,393,678 individuals are the ones who are fully vaccinated against the deadliest virus and have also taken their booster shots (third dose) of the COVID-19 vaccine.  

In addition, on behalf of the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El Anani and the Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayim inaugurated, this Thursday inaugurated 1st Abydos Music and Song Festival in Sohag Governorate.
