Sheikh Mohammed visits ‘Dubai boat show’; says event assists to “build Dubai into a global maritime destination”

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai - Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Friday, visited the Dubai International Boat Show on Friday. This is the 28th edition of the boat show, which is quite popular and famous among the world population.

It is a five-day event, which is being held at the Dubai Harbour. The government officials noted the event is assisting them in strengthening the global reputation as a world-class maritime destination of Dubai.

The event is a symbol of and showcases the harbour capabilities of Dubai city while helping the United Arab Emirates in reviving its tourism sector, as visitors from at least 54 countries arrived in Dubai to witness the aesthetic boat show.  

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, along with his other government dignitaries, visited Gulf Craft. On the opening day of the 5-day long boat show event, two new yachts were launched. The event started on March 9 and will be conducted till Sunday, March 13, 2022. 

While addressing the people, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stated, “The rich seafaring heritage and historical strengths of the country combined with the vision of our founding fathers have inspired the development of world-class maritime infrastructure. This infrastructure has driven many world-class projects and led to the nation becoming a leading player in various global sectors, including trade, tourism, leisure and hospitality.” 

Following the above-mentioned statement, he then added, “The organisation of one of the world’s most influential yacht shows is another instance of our determination to build Dubai into a global maritime destination and become a hub for excellence in various sectors. Dubai Today is a global yacht capital and a preferred destination for yacht owners, charters and cruise travellers from across the world.”  

It is considered the largest marine event in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. 

Crown Prince of Dubai – Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also visited the boat show on its first day and tweeted, “Today I visited Dubai International Boat Show, one of the world’s three most influential yacht shows being held at Dubai Harbour. Featuring over 800 brands from 54 nations, the nautical show is set to spur growth and investment in the global maritime sector.”
