Over 1 million Egyptian population vaccinated with 3 doses of COVID vaccines under “Knock on Doors” campaign

The Ministry of Health shared the data of vaccination, revealing that under the government's "Knock on Doors" campaign, over 1 million Egyptian population has been inoculated with three doses (fully vaccinated + booster shots) to date. 

Cairo, Egypt: The Ministry of Health shared the data of vaccination, revealing that under the government’sKnock on Doors” campaign, over 1 million Egyptian population has been inoculated with three doses (fully vaccinated + booster shots) to date. 

The initiative commenced on March 7, governorates of Monufiya, Fayoum, Minya, Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan, with the aim to immunise the majority of the Egyptian citizens against the deadliest COVID-19 viral disease.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson of Egypt’s Health Ministry, informed that to immunise the local population, a total of 1,400 medical team members have been allotted in the several villages of the aforementioned governorates targeted by the health ministry. 

He then informed these medical teams are being accompanied by the 3,500 health educational teams who work to create awareness among the population of Egypt regarding the importance of getting vaccinated against the deadliest virus. These health educational teams spread awareness at several public places such as – citizens passing by residences, bus stops, markets, schools, industrial areas and other establishments, the in-between time frame of 8 am to 6 pm. 

The spokesperson of the health ministry then added this awareness campaign is the government’s effort in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic while encouraging the population to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible after registering themselves at the official website.  

To date, there are 41,192,990 individuals in the Middle East country who are partially vaccinated, representing 40.3% of the total population, whereas a total of 30,174,310 citizens of Egypt have taken their recommended number of the COVID-19 vaccines and computes for around 29.5% of the total population. 

Meanwhile, there are a total of 1,393,678 individuals in Egypt who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine. This number of individuals represents about 1.4% of the total targeted eligible population.
