Abu Dhabi, UAE: In United Arab Emirates, a total of additional 318 cases of the COVID-19 mutant were recorded today, on March 16, 2022, according to the data shared by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday.
The arrival of these new cases brings the total count of the active COVID-19 virus to 29,673, whereas the mark of the confirmed COVID-19 infections increased to 886,301 as of March 16.
The health ministry further added a total of 1,073 individuals recovered from the contagious virus on Wednesday and have got discharged from the hospital facilities. For the present time, the total count of COVID-19 recoveries increased to 854,326.
No additional death has been recorded by the UAE health ministry, which means the total tally of the death rate stands at 2,302.
As per to the health ministry, a total of additional 373,822 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 318 individuals tested positive for the viral illness.
Additional 143.1 million RT-PCR COVID-19 tests so far have been conducted in the United Arab Emirates.
In terms of the COVID-19 vaccination rate, there are a total of 9,890,586 individuals in the United Arab Emirates who have received their at least one jab of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now partially vaccinated. This number of individuals represents around 99% of the total population.
On the other end, there are a total of 9,554,306 citizens of UAE have received their required number of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now in the category of fully vaccinated individuals, computing for around 96.6% of the total targeted population.
There are a total of 4,878,037 UAE residents who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots or third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This number of individuals accounts for nearly 49.3% of the total population, as of March 15, 2022, the data further notes.
