The transport authorities of Abu Dhabi have announced the business hours for all its services during the holiday of Eid Al Fitr. Motorists in the city can get up to eight days of free parking during the long festival holiday.
The Darb toll gate system and Public parking spaces in Abu Dhabi will be free from Friday, 29 April onwards until 7:59 am on Saturday, May 7.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi said, “MAWAQiF surface parking fees will be free of cost from Friday, April 29 until 7:59 am on Saturday, May 7. In addition to this, parking fees at the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will also be free during the authorised Eid holiday.”
The ITC has appealed to motorists to avoid parking in restricted areas, which will block traffic movement. The ITC highlighted, “Park vehicles properly in the designated areas and avoid parking in residential parking spaces from 9 pm until 8 am.”
“The Darb toll system will be free of cost during the holiday beginning from Friday, April 29, and the normal toll system will be reactivated on Saturday, May 7 during the prime hours (from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm from Saturday to Thursday) to assure a smooth traffic flow during these timings.”
On the other hand, public bus services in the UAE will function as per the regular schedule during the eid holidays. Still, the number of regional bus services will increase as per the demand volume between these days, i.e. April 30 and May 4.
The ITC has been coordinating with the private sector operators to raise the number of intercity bus services proportionally to the anticipated demand increase.
Meanwhile, the Customers’ Happiness Centres all over the Emirates will remain closed from April 30 and will be resuming on May 9.
