The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) as well as the Federal Authorities for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) have disclosed updates regarding the procedure for coming inside the country through various borders, which came into force on 29 April, Friday.

Just as the Eid Al Fitr holiday travel gets underway, more relaxed border rules have been announced.

The new updates will allow Emirati citizens to enter the UAE using their Emirates ID. At the same time, the citizens of other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations are also allowed to utilise their identity cards to enter the country.

Both the authorities highlighted that the new procedures strive to ease travel for citizens of GCC nations, in line with the country’s plan of safeguarding the community’s safety and health, as well as the efforts strived at supporting sustainable recovery and the retrieval to normalcy.

The border rules came during a weekend when more covid regulations were relaxed.

Meanwhile, The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) declared on Saturday that the validity of the Al Hosn green pass to enter ministries as well as federal entities to 30 days from 14 days for only those who are vaccinated with both doses.

The announcement was made as per directions from the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).

FAHR stated that the declaration was in line with the Emirate’s constant minimal Covid-19 infection rate and was made in coordination with the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and NCEMA.

The authority also called upon ministries and federal authorities to follow the procedures mentioned in its circular and further continue utilising the Al Hosn app to assure that workers and visitors are entirely vaccinated before entering into federal government entities.

During mid-April, the UAE relaxed Covid travel limitations for unvaccinated citizens, enabling all unvaccinated people, including residents and citizens, to travel if they submit a negative PCR test result take before 48 hours of departure.
