Over 8500 glass panels were fitted on the ‘diamond tower‘ project that stands 340 metres tall, which is close to the Jumeirah Lakes Tower community.

The chief executive of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Ahmed bin Sulayem stated that this is a new icon that will be the first building people coming to Dubai from Abu Dhabi or Al Maktoum Airport will witness.

The megaproject building, which will be the 14th tallest in the Emirate of Dubai after completion, will be mixed-use with residential units as well as offices, alongside a SO Sofitel five-star hotel.

Over 17 million person-hours were spent while working on this megaproject, said the developer on Wednesday, July 6.

It further said that the installation of the Uptown Tower facade system was done with no lost time because of injury.

This is a testament to the whole project team’s dedication to assure every person on the project worked safely and that any possible hazard on the project was controlled and managed effectively.

More than 23,000 vehicles were used in delivering close to 140,000 cubic metres of concrete to the megaproject of the Uptown Tower.

The skyscraper itself is supported by more than 30,000 tonnes of steel.

The ballroom of the building will hold over 1500 people, and there are more than 20 kitchens in the tower.

This project is also the foremost of two “supertall towers” at DMCC’s Uptown Dubai District.
