Dubai set to launch world’s fastest roller coaster with 679-metre track

Dubai's Storm Coaster is now officially the fastest of its kind in the world.

Dubai’s Storm Coaster is now officially the fastest of its kind in the world.

Guinness World Records confirmed its status this week, adding prestige to the Dubai Hills Mall attraction.
The indoor ride has a 679-metre track with three trains, each holding 12 riders, running simultaneously.

It’s a high-octane ride with twists and turns, inclines and massive dives – and it’s not for the faint-hearted.

Guinness World Records Shaddy Gaad added that “Dubai has added another accomplishment to its long list of world-class tourist attractions through Emaar’s new addition.

“At GWR, we have been documenting roller coaster records for decades, so the fastest vertical launch is an excellent addition for thrill-seekers.”

Launched earlier this year, the Storm Coaster is wrapped around the mall and sends riders over 50 metres into the building before its now-famous vertical drop.
But if that’s not enough, Dubai is home to countless incredible rides and attractions.

If the feeling of your stomach dropping or blood pumping through your veins while you hurtle along tracks screaming is your thing, we’ve got you covered.
