As per the information shared by Dr Joyelle Clarke, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, Climate Action & Constituency Empowerment, the Event was attended by global leaders.

At this high-level summit, all eyes are trained on the expected adoption of a landmark agreement to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030, which includes preserving 30 per cent of the world’s land and water.

The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis was represented on two fronts, a national delegation comprised of officers from the Ministry of Environment and officials from the High Commission of St Kitts and Nevis in Ottowa.

The local delegation is headed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, Sharon Rattan, who is expected to deliver a national statement to the COP15 Plenary on behalf of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis on Friday, December 16th.

Recently Dr Joyelle Clarke, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, Climate Action & Constituency Empowerment, shared information on the official Facebook handle that six fully-funded scholarships are available to civil servants of St Kitts and Nevis through the Ministry of Sustainable Development.

As per the update, the information was added that the Government has established what it is calling a Project Scholarship Program (PSP) for Post Graduate and Master’s Degrees for Technical Training in five thematic areas: Geographic Information Systems, Land-Use Planning, Sustainable Land Management, Climate Change and/or Climate-Smart Agriculture and either Environmental Management or Ecosystem Restoration.

The Project Scholarship Program is part of the Government’s Post-COVID Reset plan pertaining to Education and Scholarships.

Application forms will be available at the Human Resources Department of the Government of St Kitts and Nevis until March 31st, 2023.
