During the interview, Prime Minister recalled some of the essential steps taken by the government of SKNLP (St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party) to enhance the growth and development of the nation.

He added, “The nation had changed its approach and opened for the tourists worldwide along with understanding the need to close the country when necessary due to the pandemic in the past”.

PM Drew also cited his remarks that the pandemic seriously affected the nation’s economy. It was necessary to lift the needless restrictions to welcome travel again to St Kitts and Nevis to restore the economic situation.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister discussed the honorarium payments and severance payments under his leadership; the honorarium payments were made to all the deserving individuals in different sectors who have worked tirelessly and performed their duties during the challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic by putting their lives in danger.

On the other hand, “Individuals received severance payments who were terminated from their duties during the pandemic along with them who were not vaccinated and not safe to work at such places”, noted PM Terrance Drew during the interview.

He added, “The government have also played a significant role in providing medical aid to the children living overseas and took care of their families as well, as none should bear the pain and go through a hard time on behalf of their children”.

In his statement, PM Drew also pointed out the need for enhanced and developed medical care centres with better infrastructure and other facilities in St Kitts and Nevis.

He assured the nation’s people that the government was working on the problem and would soon provide the people with upgraded health care and modern technology.

Moving forward, Prime Minister stated that there had been new appointments, such as a new permanent secretary in the health care centres of the nation.

During the end of the interview, PMDr Terrance Drew also shed light on the current status of the MRI machine in medical centres; he conveyed that new MRI machines have been ordered recently.
