Dubai Police organizes dialogue session with Forensic Dept. on interaction with children

United Arab Emirates: Dubai Police Force Department has recently held a dialogue and interactive session with the Forensic Science Department regarding communicating with children to understand their psychological frame of mind.

As per the updates, the officials from Dubai Police have held dialogue sessions for its forensic experts on communicating with children from a forensic and psychological perspective to assist them in their investigations if needed.

Furthermore, The session was held and aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of forensic experts in this critical area as it can prove to be an essential part of the investigations. 

In addition, “The meeting was focused on improving the understanding of the children’s psyche and how to approach such critical conditions”, officials added.   

As per the reports, the Forensic Science Department organized the session per the directives and under the patronage of His Excellency Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, and the follow-up of Major General Ahmed Thani Bin Ghalaita, Director of the Forensic Science and Criminology General Department at Dubai Police.

Brigadier Makki Salman inaugurated the dialogue session at the Dubai Police Officer’s Club in the presence of forensic and criminology experts who met to tackle ways of psychological communication with children from the perspective of the criminal sciences, especially those involved in family disputes and other cases that have psychological impacts on children, their future and behaviour.

Moreover, Brigadier Makki confirmed that the dialogue session reflects the keenness of the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology on foreseeing the future and brainstorming mechanisms to enhance police work and develop solutions,” he continued.

“The communicative session was led by leading psychologists, forensic specialists and child welfare experts who shared their expertise on effective communication techniques and approaches when working with children during forensic investigations,” said reports.

In the end, the topics included understanding child behaviour, developing rapport with children, and using appropriate language and techniques during interviews.
