Saint Lucia: “I am a strong advocate of regionalism”, says PM Phillip J Pierre while supporting regionalism

Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Phillip Joseph Pierre, has recently shared his views and thoughts regarding regionalism in the country, expressed his support towards the such aspect, and stated, "I am a strong advocate of regionalism.”

As per the information, Prime Minister Pierre took to his official social media handle to express his stand for regionalism in Saint Lucia.

In addition, he conveyed that the work of the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on CARICOM (The Caribbean Community and Common Market) Single Market & Economy (CSME) will assist in shaping and accelerating the desire for a more integrated region.

“The people of Saint Lucia will get substantial benefits and advantages through cooperation and partnership among our countries with greater vision and long-term goals,” PM Phillip Pierre added in his remarks.

The reports have also confirmed that the main focus of the Prime Ministerial Sub Committee initiative in CARICOM is to help and support the people of Saint Lucia in building an association between regionalism and the people of the nation.

In his statement, PM Pierre further expressed his stand and support for regionalism in the nation as he is a strong representative of such a perspective and holds up with conviction.

Furthermore, he also noted in his social media post that he is excited and looking forward to the upcoming Forty-Fourth Regular Sitting of the Conference of the CARICOM Heads of Government (The Caribbean Community and Common Market), which is scheduled to be commenced on February 15th, 2023 in the Bahamas.

Moreover, on his part, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has also noted that the upcoming meeting of the Conference of the Government Heads in the Bahamas will be another sitting of the officials from the CARICOM where the cause of regionalism will be discussed further among his regional colleagues.
