The move to close the popular off-roading spot underscores the commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of community members.

Veteran offroaders are emphasizing the importance of responsible off-roading practices to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of motorists and their companions.

Abdullah Muhammad AlBloushi, a UAE national and senior marshal of the Dubai Offroaders Desert Driving Institute with two decades of experience, stresses proper precautions before embarking on off-road adventures.

“The first advice is not to go alone. Second, before going off-road, one should ensure that people carry proper safety equipment before heading to the mountains or the deserts. Certain things are mandatory that one should keep in their cars,” he advises.

One crucial aspect highlighted by AlBloushi is the significance of avoiding crowded areas where inexperienced offroaders may pose additional risks.

The UAE’s off-road marshals are advocating for a collective responsibility among enthusiasts to prioritize safety over thrill-seeking, particularly in regions with challenging terrains.

Illegal off-roading activities, often undertaken by amateurs, can lead to devastating consequences for motorists and their families.

The recent incident in Al Faya serves as a stark reminder of the inherent dangers associated with off-roading, especially when safety measures are neglected.

The decision by Sharjah Police to close the Al Faya dunes area serves as both a precautionary measure and a stern warning to those who may be tempted to engage in risky off-roading behavior.

Authorities are urging the off-road community to comply with security rules and guidelines, reinforcing the importance of responsible recreation in these unique and often unpredictable environments.

As the UAE continues to attract off-road enthusiasts from various backgrounds, the call for responsible off-roading becomes paramount.

By heeding the advice of seasoned offroaders like AlBloushi and recognizing the gravity of the risks involved, residents can ensure that their off-road adventures remain thrilling yet safe.

It is a collective responsibility to preserve the joy of off-roading while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all those who seek the thrill of exploring the UAE’s diverse landscapes.
